Why CAS 124-68-5 hasn't dangerous pictogram while has phrases R 52 53?

Answer:
The substance concerned has no icon "environmentally hazardous" in ECB. Directive 1999/45/EEC also described that we can have phrases R without pictogram in the environmental level.

The system meets the requirements of Quebec

Answer:
Since 13/06/2006 we've included in our data DB RR the info of Quebec (VME, VLE, Ceililng, Dermal) which you've requested. We'll complete in the coming weeks all the components at the same time with OSHA because there are several CAS and different values for certain compounds.

Information on IARC classification 1 of ethanol

Answer:
Please find enclosed the link of IARC monograph for ethanol:
http://www-cie.iarc.fr/htdocs/monographs/vol44/44.htm

Ethanol has been shown to cause cancer in alcoholics. This doesn't mean that those that in the presence of ethanol but not alcoholics are not exposed to the same risk.

Keep requests in file

Question:
At the time of printing, in the print window it is possible to "print in file" with PRN. I tried but when I open the file in question, I had the lines (Embedded image moved to file: pic14605.pcx) and (Embedded image moved to file: pic03616.pcx) @. It would be very useful for me to keep the requests in file, arranged by date and applicant (labor inspection, host environment, CRAM ...). Could you give me a solution?

Answer:
The PRN. is language of your printer than no longer usable (option file appears by default in Windows).

To keep your requests in file, it's better to convert them to PDF. You can find free tools in http://www.primopdf.com/ or payed Adobe version http://www.adobe.fr/products/acrobatstd/main.html that will enable you to print the result of a request in PDF file that you can keep.

Approach to reduce the weight of an STP

Answer:
A SDS that you sent was scanned by you but didn't come directly from the supplier. Therefore the file can no longer be reduced because the reduction can be done only in the moment of scan.

However, if you receive SDS directly from the manufacturer in electronic format, you can eventually reduce their size by using a tool for creating PDF (Primopdf example). The manipulation is simple:
- Open the SDS with the corresponding application,
- Select "File / Print"
- Selected Primopdf in the list of printers
- Press the button "Print"
- Primopdf inventes you to choose where you want to store your new file
- Press OK and you get your PDF

View a SDS imported

Question:
All the links that I did with my SDS no longer work even those that I have.

Answer:
Just to update in the "Settings" the applications route for which we changed the version.

Creation of new supplier

Question:
I have updated to 2.0. New version does not give the option of adding a new supplier after creating a new MSDS. The "+" is not available.

Réponse:

This is because you have already a "New" string in the supplier list. You can select and modify this item. Once all "New" list items are removed (through modification) the "+" sign will be reactivated. This is done for security reasons(not to create "New" items accidentally).

Modification and delete of existing SDS

Question:
I have a question about Styltime. Is it possible to modify a MSDS that already exists? I don't want to create a new schedule, I need to modify some data in a schedule that already exists.

Réponse:

Yes you can modify practically any data attached to an MSDS except the following:

* You cannot delete an MSDS
* You cannot delete a workarea / workplace nor their attachement
* You cannot delete a created manufacturer

Entry of a substance with its EINECS number

Question:
In the SDS, the substances are listed with their EINECS numbers. Can I get these substances in the green tab?

Answer:
It's possible because, just like CAS number, an entry field is planned for EINECS number just below that for the CAS. The filed tooltip is entitled as "EU number".

The procedure is the same:
- Press the button "+"
- Saisies EINECS number in the correponding field
- Confirm with the "enter" key on your keyboard
- Enter the concentration

In the case that your SDS does not contain concentration, you'd better to request a correction from your supplier.

Change of supplier status

Question:
We have a problem of re-purchase of a supplier firm.

Answer:
If the supplier changes the name, it's normal and desirable that all the SDS to be updated (new contact of supplier other than the creation of new SDS). We don't achieve the history of supplier and its changes since the legal responsibility remains the same after changing its name.
On the contrary, if the supplier is re-purchased by another group, it's logical to create a new SDS because the legal liability is transferred to the new entity even physically it's the same plant.

Modification of workarea and workplace

Question:
Following a writing error to modify Workarea and Workplace in a SDS; apparently it was not provided or I have not found the right path to there. It perhaps also need to be useful in case of withdraw a "workarea, workplace" of a product (This product is common in various workareas and workplaces). Is it possible to update the software to solve this problem?

Answer:
1. Styltime MSDS is designed to manage the SDS other than workarea/workplace. The connection is made to find out where SDS was used. The main reason for this connection is the traceability and archiving.
2. A management service of workarea/workplace taking into account the effective use of each product over time and according to other propre criteria (quantity, frequency, distance etc...) will be available in the coming months. This service will use the same basis and thereofre the connection made in Styltime MSDS. It can be noted that only beginning and endding dates probably do not agree with each other.
3. The writing error can be corrected by the fonction "Tables/Internaionalisation" through the group "company".

Why REACH & GHS are influencing your company

REACH and GHS are impacting most business in the international trade nowadays. It is important to understand what your role is in these regulations, and what you can do now to be sure you are ready.
You need to know all the substances you use; for preparations you need to find out what the ingredients are. Keep a record of each one, and include essential information for example the name of the chemical and the percentage in any preparations. You can use this information to determine the tonnage per year.
Additionally you need to know whether you produce or import articles. If you do, establish if any substance (which is intended to be released under normal or resonably foresseable conditions of use) is present in these articles in quantities totalling over 1 tonne.
Every business making use of chemicals that aren't exempt from REACH and GHS need to understand how valuable these substances are to them, and plan to make effective business decisions based on this knowledge.
Establish a relationship with your suppliers and any downstream users. You need to know how REACH and GHS are going to impact on your supply chain before you can decide what to do about it.
